Research
Evidence produced in public, by students
AIMPACT-EU generates original data on AI-enabled anti-EU political advertising and on public vulnerability to Eurosceptic narratives. The datasets, the analyses and the resulting policy briefs are all published openly.
Focus areas
AI-driven targeting and personalisation
How algorithmic targeting, generative content and micro-segmentation change what an anti-EU message looks like and who ever sees it.
Identity and belonging
How identity-based disinformation reframes EU policies as intrusive or incompatible with national values, and how that erodes trust in EU institutions.
Transparency and regulation
How Regulation (EU) 2024/900 on the transparency and targeting of political advertising works in practice, and where it does not reach.
Comparative and cross-border cases
Shared patterns and country-specific variations across EU member states, with a dedicated strand on the Republic of Moldova.
Methods
AI-assisted content analysis of political advertising material
Platform ad-library exercises and structured fact-checking labs
Original public opinion data collected through the online political compass
Comparative case work across EU member states and the Republic of Moldova
