Team

Who runs the module

A deliberately young team at the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences, Babeș-Bolyai University, so that the research direction outlasts the funding period.

  • Mihnea-Simion Stoica

    Project Manager

    Associate Professor, PhD habil.

Specialist in political communication and political advertising, populist narratives and European politics, and coordinator of the two courses in the module. He has led national and international teams on projects covering AI, populism and EU policies, has published in Q1 and Q2 journals and has presented at more than 30 international conferences. Alongside his academic work he spent ten years producing a regional television talk show on the EU.

  • Andreea-Nicoleta Voina

    Trainer, Euroscepticism and identity

    Assistant Professor, PhD

Specialist in political communication, organisational communication and gender, with a background spanning communication sciences and political science. A Fulbright alumna who conducted doctoral research at the University of Georgia, she is BBU project manager for ST(R)E(A)M IT and introduced a course on gender, digital cultures and communities. She is responsible for the design and delivery of the workshops.

  • Ioan-Mihai Alexandrescu

    Trainer, Euroscepticism and EU policies

    Associate Professor, PhD

Specialist in EU institutions and regulation, with a sustained focus on how EU decision-making works in practice: procedures, institutional bargaining and the regulatory logic that turns political priorities into binding outcomes. He coordinates the Jean Monnet Module POPULIST-GAMEMODE, which turns EU institutional realities into structured learning activities that produce analytical criteria rather than opinions.

  • Teodor-Mihai Cosma

Junior Researcher, AI and media communication

    PhD candidate, Teaching Assistant

PhD candidate in Communication and Teaching Assistant at FSPAC, with a background in full-stack development and the integration of AI into digital ecosystems. He works on large language model workflows and analytical web tools, including the political compass application built for his master's thesis, and is responsible for the project's digital ecosystem alongside stakeholder engagement and dissemination.

And the students

Every cohort taking the two courses contributes to the module: collecting and coding advertising cases for the AIAdRep, building the datasets and drafting the annual policy briefs. Under academic supervision, students also shape the visual identity of the project and the layout of the policy briefs and dissemination materials.
